Fish Head Mee Hoon 鱼头米粉 - Pandan Indah

This is not something new in town and it's not the best fish head mee hoon I've ever tried. But there are something worth mentioning for this stall selling fish head mee hoon @Pandan Indah. Since it's a soup noodle, the first thing i do when it was served was to taste the soup. I would say that the soup is ordinary, just nice compared to some food court selling fish head mee hoon which is way too tasty. The thing that worth mentioning is the sliced deep fried fish. The cool thing is when you finished the whole bowl of mee hoon, the sliced fish is still crispy inside the soup. Awesome.

I have also noticed that many customers ordering chicken (A la Carte). Perhaps their chicken is nice too but unfortunately when i wanted to order, they were all sold out. I also tried their Bubur Manis (糖水). Not bad, I like it.

Pricing at RM5.50 for the fish head mee hoon, I give it a rating of 4/5.

Opposite the Pandan Indah Mosque, turn in to Jalan Pandan Indah 6/2. Along the road there are a many malay restaurants on the left. Pass all the restaurants and you'll see the stall on your left. You'll also see a truck selling groceries & newspaper right in front of the stall.

Adios Android

Initially I drafted a long story about Android head-to-head with iOS and the final thoughts. Instead of final thoughts, I've made a decision. Having two smartphones doesn't make my life easier, therefore I gotta say goodbye to one of'em.

Apps - the number game doesn't matter, quality matters. iOS offers both
Value for money - luxury car (SGS II) + free driver (Android) vs luxury car (iPhone) + well trained driver (iOS)
UI - cool UI, cool widgets, cool keyboard but beware of ram usage (Android). Simple icons, simple UI, no widgets but you never need to worry bout ram management (iOS).
Adobe Flash - you need on your computer or tabs but I don't really think you need it on your smartphone.
SD Card - Oh, save on phone or save on sd card? Aiks, why I can't move this to sd card? Storage management is for stone age. And internal storage is always faster.
Accessories - Less model = more variety of accessories.
Software Update Support - 'Hey idiot, drive carefully' 'WTF, I'm hired for free, what did you expect?' (Android). Hey idiot, drive carefully' 'I'm optimized for this vehicle but I'm bitten by some bugs. My replacement will be here soon' (iOS).
Sync - I used to hate iTunes like anyone else. But how do i backup the whole droid? OMG
Ease of use - everything is on the desk, not hiding inside the drawer. if your grandma uses iPhone before, I believe she definitely knows how to use iPhone3G, 3GS, 4 & 4S.

I'll be letting go my Mi410 anytime soon. If you're interested, please contact me.

Officially Droided

Okay I'm not gonna touch on history much and get straight to the chorus. iPhone = a revolution, Blackberry = a trend and Android = a replacement of WinMo. This is just my humble opinion. Again, I ain't gonna elaborate much on that as this post is all about getting droided.

Is getting droided a headache? in most cases, yes. There is only one model of latest iPhone, few models of latest Blackberry, however there are hundreds of model of latest droids. In my case, no. My objective is to get an inexpensive yet with decent hardware. This brought me to getting this lil toy called CSL Mi410 Slim.

First impression:
- the design is nice and simple, except the back camera (can easily get scratch coz it pops up a bit)
- the touchscreen is not responsive
- the camera quality is a bit disappointing
- after playing some flash video in browser, the phone became extremely laggy
- speakers are quite impressive, i think better than iphone4
- LCD screen a bit out of pace, old tech, less viewing angle
- don't like the UI and also the unlock screen method
- battery life sux
With all these mentioned, it's not even close to decent. But wait, there must be a reason why it's the chosen one. Don't forget it's running on Android which is extremely tweakable. After gathering enough information and files required, the phone was immediately modded on the second day powered by a custom rom with supercharged.

Not only it's now a decent phone, its performance is increased by at least 30% from it's origin. The sensitivity of the touchscreen is now better, laggy issue are much improved and the overall experience are greatly improved. UI is now better than before. Installed a few 3D games today and guess what, they run like charm. Of course it's not great as its played on iPhone4, but hell, we're talking bout a phone that's bout 2.5 times cheaper than an iPhone4. Another draw back is its screen timeout function. It always timeout regardless of what app you're running. Unlike iPhone where it actually knows you're watching a video and will not timeout by itself.

After officially droided, here are some of my two cents. There are more apps developed for iOS than Droid. Developers usually focus more on iOS as no doubt it's a revolution. Managing the media files, apps and backups are way easier via iTunes for iOS. It syncs better. The multiple home screens and drawer concept in droid is however awesome. It makes the phone more interesting and more personalized than just some boring icons. Will get it's hard case and I'm still hunting for a best fit clear screen protector. Screen protector are indeed comes together in the package however the matte screen protector does affect the touchscreen sensitivity

2~0~0~8

It's really scary. It's already the 8th day of 2008. I still remember the time I was watching World Cup 1998. I couldn't believe it was already 10 years back. Thinking of what I've done for these 10 years. Sigh... What I've done? What I've achieve in life? Time is really running out. I have wasted too much time.

2008 is a good year. Sum up all the numbers you'll get 10. It's not looking back that I've already wasted 10 years. It's gonna starts with 10. My goal this year is gonna be 10/10. Number 10 also stands for Attacking/Offensive Midfielder. SC! You can do it!

'Fishing' on the highway

Today after work was freaking tired. I was damn sleepy while I was driving back home. Keep shifting the radio channels but there were no nice songs. Played some songs from CD hoping that I could sing along to make myself awake. After a few tracks, I don't even know what song I'm listening to as I was 'fishing' in the car. Really beh tahan. Then took 5 minutes break at resting area before Nilai. Eventually reached home safely. Phew...

Christmas in Portuguese Settlement

24/12/2007 22.30 depart from Seremban hoping to get some nice shot at Portuguese Settlement but it was disappointing. The decorations is really awesome as usual i would say but i think for photo shooting, I was there at the wrong time. It was very crowded and packed. I couldn't even set up my tripod. party sprays were everywhere and crowds were like 人山人海. Believe it or not, I only managed to get 13 shots which I'm not gonna share with you all anywhere as none of them are acceptable. Perhaps next time I shall go there few days before Christmas.

Got my GA16 today!!!

Eventually upgraded to a 90hp Nissan GA16 with a striking metallic maroon body. The extra 20hp and extra 400cc from my previous Nissan A12 (70hp) will surely leads to higher fuel consumption. Hopefully it won't burn the petrol like drinking water.. hehe...

sc back in action

Sorry guys. It's been a long time I did not update my bloggie.
Lately I felt a bit uneasy coz i've missed PC Fair III 2005. I've heard that this time they are more organized than the previous one. But anyway it's a good thing I missed it so that I wouldn't burn a hole in my pocket. If i go last week, I'll surely get the Edifier R501 MKII that i was aiming for long time already.

Ok, that's all for today. It's time for NFS Most Wanted!!!
